Our Montessori Kitchen Helper Step Stool is a cleverly conceived step stool designed with high walls and railings for a child to be safe and secure whilst helping in the kitchen. Designed with an adjustable platform for safe use by children from about 18 months through to ages 5 or 6.
There are lots of benefits for children using a kitchen helper (also known as a learning tower). For the very young they can start to develop gross motor skills like climbing, and by standing on the adjustable platform they are able to observe and learn daily tasks. As they get a little older children can develop fine motor skills (pouring, cutting, mixing) as they take part in food preparation or washing and drying dishes. Ultimately your little chefs will even start to stir ingredients for different recipes and assemble simple foods like sandwiches or fruit cocktails.
The kitchen helper is a safe way for children to be at kitchen counter height without worrying they could fall. Children will develop practical life skills whilst enhancing self-confidence and by spending quality time together and teaching new skills parents will create significant memories for their child.

Our design features a happy chef graphic which will appeal to children’s sense of fun and increase attachment to their new kitchen helper step stool.
To cater for children of different ages/height the Montessori Kitchen Helper Step Stool has an adjustable standing platform with 3 options – height 300/380 and 460mm (age range 18 months to 5 or 6). The standing platform is simply adjusted using an allen key (supplied).
The unit features a rounded back safety rail which can be removed (if desired) as your child gets older and more confident.
The unit is lightweight enough to be easily moved using the rounded hand holes – whilst it is also sturdy enough to hold much more than your child’s weight.

I got this for my daughter as she loves helping in the kitchen. She can easily climb into it by herself and has become far more independent. I chose this one as it has carry handles so it can be easily moved around and the anti-slip feet are great. The platform can be adjusted to 3 heights so she can safely help prepare food, do the washing up and do other activities. My daughter loves the chef on the side panels. The wood is a beautiful finish and is so well made it should last until she is tall enough to reach the worktops by herself.
